Robinsons Solicitors and Collings & Co both Canterbury based legal practices are pleased to announce that with effect from 4th January 2010 they have merged.
Robinsons Solicitors incorporating Collings & Co sees the two firms joining forces to strengthen and enhance the services they can offer both to existing as well as new clients and the personal and approachable service which both firms have offered will continue.
Martin Collings previously sole principal of Collings & Co will head up Robinsons Commercial and Residential Property Departments bringing with him many years experience in these legal areas. Martin said “Collings & Co undertook a comprehensive range of non-contentious work such as Commercial and Residential Conveyancing and Wills and Probate. The merger with Robinsons is an ideal opportunity not only to expand these areas but also to benefit from the extensive litigation work they undertake providing a breadth of service not previously available to our clients.”
Martin also brings with him two Legal Executives, Karen Rance who undertakes Residential Conveyancing and Teresa Blenard who deals with Wills, Probate and Trusts.
Sandra Worth, Partner at Robinsons responsible for their Probate Department said “We are delighted to welcome Martin and his staff as part of our team. This is just the sort of opportunity we hoped our larger Stour Street premises would bring. Martin and his colleagues areas of work will complement our large Family, Personal Injury and Civil Litigation Departments.”
The timing of the merger is also important. As Nameeta Gujral in Robinsons Family Team points out “The New Year often brings an increase in clients requiring Matrimonial and Family advice. We hope our merger will give us an opportunity to help more people in this area of work.”
Robinsons also work closely with David Clarke Estate Agents who have an office at Robinsons premises. Mathew Nunn, David Clarkes Canterbury manager was enthusiastic about how things had progressed since their official launch in August 2009 “since our launch in Canterbury we have listed a number of properties with some transactions having completed prior to Christmas. Our free HIPs and Conveyancing package which we offer in conjunction with Robinsons has proved popular.”
